Zafer is currently in charge of the Ministry’s energy and transport matters, achieving synergies with other parts of the Turkish government on policy direction and multilateral collaboration. His diplomatic career has included spells as Second and First Secretary, Energy Department (2005-2007), Head of the Environment and Climate Change Department (2011-2014) and Consul-General in Deventer, the Netherlands (2014-2017). He is a graduate of the Faculty of Political Sciences of the Ankara University and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the same year.
